Our History

Emzee Football Club began as a community-driven team in 2016, built on the belief that disciplined training, opportunity, and inclusion can change young lives. In July 2017, Emzee FC was officially registered as a Malaysian football club with the Pesuruhjaya Sukan Malaysia (Malaysian Sports Commissioner), setting the foundation for structured growth.

Key Milestones

2016–2017: Formation and formal registration; Emzee’s grassroots identity takes shape with open doors to both local and foreign players.
2022: First major competition appearance in the twentyfive.7 League (Selangor)—a step up in competitive standards and club operations.
2023:
- Became an affiliate member of the Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) and competed in Liga PBKL (KL Super League), the top tier in Kuala Lumpur.
- Named Celtic Soccer Academy’s first international club partner in Southeast Asia, launching a technical pathway and knowledge exchange.
- Hosted the first-ever Emzee Soccer Camp, delivered by Celtic Soccer Academy coaches from Scotland—a landmark in coaching quality and player experience.
- August: Club relocated to Johor Bahru, launching Emzee FC Academy for boys and girls aged 5–18, widening access to structured, progressive training.
2024: Ran the first 3-day soccer camp for B40 communities and refugees—completely free—affirming Emzee’s commitment to inclusion and social impact.
2025: Achieved affiliate status with the Johor Bahru Football Association (JBFA), strengthening competitive pathways and local integration.

Coaching Philosophy

Why we coach
We use football to build better players and better people—every session should make a player better, braver, happier to return.

Core principles

Player-first: Long-term development over short-term results.
Inclusive: Open to all backgrounds; equal standards, equal care.
Character-led: Discipline, humility, resilience, teamwork.
Game-real: High touches, constant decisions, realistic pressure.
Growth mindset: Mistakes = feedback; effort and progress are praised.
Safe & positive: Safeguarding, wellbeing, and respectful language always.
Evidence-informed: Simple tracking (attendance, minutes, load, habits).

How we train (Play → Train → Play)

Arrival games: Fast, fun small-sided play to set the theme.
Guided practice: Constraints that teach body shape, scanning, passing, pressing.
Match transfer: Free play with light coaching to cement learning.

Game model (youth)

With ball: Build with courage; triangles/diamonds; play forward when possible.
Without ball: Press with purpose; compact support and quick recovery runs.
Transitions: Secure first touch; attack if on, reset shape if not.

Pathway (5–18)
Foundation (5–9) → Youth (10–13) → Development (14–16) → Performance (17–18), with age-appropriate technical, tactical, physical, and mental goals.

Parents & community
Clear communication, positive sidelines, shared standards.

Safeguarding
Verified staff, safe ratios, hydration/heat protocols, zero tolerance for bullying or discrimination.
