Manchester United 'keen on signing Diego Godin' .

Manchester United are once again eyeing a move for veteran centre-back Diego Godin, according to reports.

Despite only joining inter Milan last summer, Godin is no longer wanted by Antonio Conte after failing to adapt to the Italian's system after moving from Atletico Madrid.

Godin had shone at Atletico under Diego Simeone, becoming one of the best defenders in world football, and United were one of a number of clubs heavily interested in his signature last summer.

And according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, the Old Trafford outfit are interested in going back in for him to bolster their defensive ranks.

The 34-year-old's contract at the San Siro expires in 2022 but it appears unlikely he will see out the remainder of his deal.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to bring in some much-needed experience to provide wisdom to his United defenders at present.

However, United are reportedly set for competition in the summer transfer window from LaLiga outfit Valencia.

The Uruguayan defender has only featured 16 times out of a possible 25 Serie A games this season after struggling to adapt to life in Milan.
