Juventus vs Lecce match preview: Will Sarri's men remain on course for Serie A glory?

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to break records with Juventus — but tonight the table-toppers must break Lecce hearts as they chase Serie A glory.

Maurizio Sarri's side host the relegation battlers knowing three points will move them a step closer to securing a 36th top-flight championship.

And Ronaldo, 35, will be in the mood to add to his goal tally after becoming the leading Portuguese scorer in Serie A history on Monday with a penalty in the 2-0 win at Bologna.

Having already conceded a staggering 60 goals and won just six league games, it’s hard to imagine Lecce leaving the Juventus Stadium anything other than empty-handed.

Even if Juve’s star man has an off night, the likes of Argentinian attacker Paulo Dybala and ex-Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey will keep Lecce keeper Gabriel busy.

Despite being in Italy for less than two seasons, Ronaldo has now netted 43 times in the league — surpassing the previous 42-goal record set by compatriot Rui Costa in 339 appearances.

He also remains the leading scorer to hail from Portugal in the Premier League, La Liga and Champions League.

With 22 goals from 23 Serie A outings this season, just the sight of Ronaldo’s name on the teamsheet is likely to strike fear into Lecce.

And that’s before they even begin to worry about Dybala, who has weighed in with eight goals and four assists during Juve’s bid to retain the title.

As for Gabriel, there appears little hope of the Brazilian recording just his second clean sheet of the domestic league campaign.

Having conceded four goals in Lecce's first game back, don’t be surprised to see him pick the ball out of the net on more than one occasion tonight.
