Chelsea 'willing to sell N'Golo Kante' as Frank Lampard looks to fund summer transfers

Chelsea are willing to sell N'Golo Kante' to fund any further signings in the transfer market this summer.

The French World Cup winner has been a key player since joining the Blues from Leicester but his future at the club is at risk.

The Times report that if Frank Lampard wants to make any more additions, with Kai Havertz targeted, then Kante is one of the players who could depart.

Roman Abramovich has already bankrolled moves for Timo Werner from RB Leipzig (£53million) and Hakim Ziyech from Ajax (£36.6m).

And Lampard has been told that any more key incomings this summer will have to be funded through sales.

It may come as a surprise however that Kante is one of the players on the chopping block.

The 29-year-old has been a stalwart at Stamford Bridge since signing from Leicester back in 2016 after they won the Premier League.

But he may have to go, along with others at risk such as Marcos Alonso, Baba Rahman, Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Michy Batshuayi.

Chelsea remain interested in Bayer Leverkusen star Havertz but it is understood that the German, valued at around £75m, favours a switch to Real Madrid.

He has 15 goals and eight assists this season and is already one of Germany's key players.

Bayern Munich, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs are also monitoring the situation closely.
