Barcelona 'open to offering five players including Arthur and Arturo Vidal to get Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona are ready to offer up to five players in order to secure the signing of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, according to reports in Italy.

The Catalan giants are looking to offload several stars in order to reduce their mammoth wage bill, especially given the current economical crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And according to Corriere dello Sport via CalcioMercato, Barcelona will look to kill two birds with one stone by offering Inter Arturo Vidal, Arthur Melo, Jean-Clair Tobido, Carles Alena and Nelson Semedo in a deal for Martinez.

Barca have been linked with a move for Martinez in recent months as they reportedly see him as the man to take over from Luis Suarez.

Recent reports also suggest that the Argentine striker has already agreed to a big-money contract at the Nou Camp but still have to negotiate any deal with the San Siro outfit first.

Inter are keen on a cash-only deal and are ready to reject anything that doesn't meet their £103million release clause.

Barcelona are hoping that the surplus of players could tempt Inter into accepting, given Antonio Conte has shown interest in bringing Vidal to the club in the winter window.

While Vidal, Arthur and Semedo are first-team regulars, the same cannot be said for Tobido and Alena.

Barcelona loaned Tobido and Alena out in January after both struggled to break into the starting XI.

And it looks like more than five players could be leaving the club in a summer exodus, with Antoine Griezmann, Ivan Rakitic, Philippe Coutinho , Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite are being linked with the Nou Camp exit.
