Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone claims Thomas Partey can play for "the best teams in Europe".
The Ghanaian has been linked with a move away from the Spanish club with Arsenal and Manchester United linked.
Partey has been a main stay in the Atletico side for several years under Simeone.
He played a crucial role as the Spaniards knocked Liverpool out of the Champions League back in March.
And his manager has hailed his qualities and confessed the continent's best sides will be watching the 27-year-old.
"Thomas is the one who best understands this position and the transition from defence to attack, shooting, scoring, providing assists and playing passes between the lines," Simeone told reporters.
"When he's at his best level consistently, he's so good that all the best teams in Europe are looking at him."
Arsenal have long been accused of having a soft underbelly - something Partey would solve.
However the midfielder's price tag always looked like being a stumbling block - and this was before the coronavirus pandemic.
The Gunners have not had Champions League revenue for several years and that has impacted their transfer budget.
Mikel Arteta is keen to shape his squad but knows he will have to be wise in the transfer market.
Atletico have been linked with Gunners forward Alexandre Lacazette and that could prove to their advantage should they come knocking.
The Frenchman was previously linked with the La Liga side before heading to the Emirates.
Only a transfer ban prevented him from moving to Atletico and they could revive their interest.
